There is a new name on our showroom floor. Lions Floor is one of America's fastest-growing flooring brands — waterproof rigid-core SPC, laminate, loose lay, and LVP built around one simple idea: performance, design, and healthier indoor air in every plank.
Here is who they are, why we brought them to Houston, and the Texas-inspired collection leading the way.
If you have been shopping for vinyl plank, you already know the category: rigid-core waterproof flooring — a floor that can run through a whole house, kitchen, baths, laundry room, entry, without worrying about the next spill or humid August. What you may not know yet is the brand behind some of the best of it. Lions Floor is now at Vinyl Floors Houston, and this is your introduction.
We do not add a brand to our floor lightly. As a Houston Flooring Store, our name goes on every recommendation we make — so when we bring in a new line, it has to earn its place on performance, on design, and on the company standing behind it. Lions Floor cleared that bar. Here is the story.
Who Lions Floor Is
Lions Floor was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Paramount, California. In less than a decade it has grown into one of America’s fastest-growing wholesale flooring brands, distributing SPC, WPC, laminate, and LVP to retailers, builders, and multifamily developers nationwide. Its stated mission is short enough to fit on a business card: ‘We strive for quality.’
The founders did not set out to be the biggest flooring company in America — they set out to build the kind customers could rely on. The brand's philosophy is consistency: consistent quality, dependable supply, responsive service, and relationships that last beyond a single order. That philosophy was stress-tested early — tariffs, a pandemic, and freight chaos hit the industry within the brand's first few years — and Lions Floor responded by investing in exactly what reliability requires: long-term manufacturing partnerships, a nationwide distribution network, and deeper inventory infrastructure.
For Houston, one detail matters most: Lions Floor keeps a distribution presence right here in Houston. The brand is not shipping across the country to reach our store — it already operates in our backyard, which means steadier supply for local projects.
Why We Brought Lions Floor In
Three reasons. First, the product fits Houston: waterproof rigid cores that are stable on slab foundations and indifferent to Gulf Coast humidity. Second, the design is genuinely good — registered-embossed textures and painted bevels that read as real hardwood, not a picture of it. Third, the company behind it is built the way we try to run our store: quality you can verify, supply you can count on, and service that answers. When a brand checks all three, it earns floor space.
What the Brand Stands For
Lions Floor sums itself up as "Crafted for Style. Built for Life." Underneath the tagline are four commitments you will find across every collection the brand makes.
Performance first: Waterproof rigid cores, indent resistance, and wear layers built for real traffic — kids, dogs, rolling chairs, commercial use. The UNICLIC locking system, the one most professional installers prefer, floats each floor tight with no glue, and an attached premium acoustic pad keeps it quiet and cushioned underfoot.
Design that holds up to daylight: Registered embossing aligns the surface texture with the printed wood grain, painted bevels define each plank like real hardwood, and varied plank patterns keep repetition from giving the game away. The look is classic, stylish hardwood — without the hardwood upkeep or the premium of real wood.
Healthier indoor air: Every Lions Floor SPC product is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality, made from 100% eco-friendly ingredients, and is formaldehyde-free and phthalate-free. Every collection is also tested in U.S.-based laboratories to meet and exceed industry standards — the brand verifies its claims instead of just printing them.
Backed for the long run: Almost all Lions Floor SPC collections carry a 50-year residential and 10-year commercial limited warranty. A warranty that long is a statement about how the product is built — and it is the kind of backing we want standing behind the floors we sell.
The Signature Idea: One Color Story, Every Room
Plenty of brands make a good plank. Lions Floor's distinguishing move is what happens across the whole house.
Most homes need more than one kind of floor. You want waterproof rigid core in the kitchen and baths, maybe laminate in the bedrooms, glue-down LVP in a rental or commercial space. With most brands, switching categories means switching colors — and the house ends up looking patched together.
Lions Floor built its palette the other way around. Its best-selling colors are coordinated across four product categories — SPC, laminate, loose lay, and LVP — with matching mouldings to finish the transitions. Pick a color story once, and it carries from room to room and category to category: SPC where water is a threat, laminate where budget matters, LVP where the spec calls for it — one continuous look, with each room getting the construction it actually needs.
For homeowners, that means design freedom without compromise. For builders and multifamily projects, it means a single palette can spec an entire property. It is a simple idea, executed across the full line — and it is the thing customers mention most once they see the collections side by side.
The Product Families
Four categories, one palette. SPC is the flagship — and the place most Houston projects start.
SPC Rigid Core (flagship): Stone polymer composite — the densest, most dimensionally stable core in the line. 100% waterproof, indent resistant, and ideal on Houston slab foundations. Ten collections, including the Texas-inspired Lone Star Spirit lines featured below.
WPC Rigid Core: Wood polymer composite cores with a slightly softer, more cushioned feel underfoot — collections like Canyon Coast and Seaside Summit — for homeowners who want rigid-core waterproofing with extra give.
Laminate: Modern water-resistant laminate, including the Comfort Heights collection — the high-definition wood look and click-lock ease laminate is known for, in colors coordinated with the SPC palette.
LVP & Loose Lay: Flexible luxury vinyl plank — the District, District Pro, and District Max lines — plus loose lay formats for glue-down and commercial applications where dimensional stability under heavy traffic is the priority.
The SPC Collections
Ten collections share the same brand platform — waterproof rigid core, attached acoustic pad, UNICLIC locking, FloorScore certification — so choosing among them is about plank size, look, and room rather than performance tier.

Featured: Lone Star Spirit
Every brand has a line that shows what it is about. For Lions Floor in Texas, it is the Lone Star Spirit collections — Western-inspired designs exclusive to the brand, and the first thing we show Houston customers.
Lone Star Spirit — Our Headline Pick
7” × 72” planks · 6 mm thick · 20 mil wear layer · 21.27 SF per box
Lone Star Spirit is Lions Floor's Western-inspired SPC line — wide-plank oak looks drawn from Texas ranch houses, Hill Country limestone light, and long western sunsets. The colors tell the story on their own: Sunnyside Up, Almont Haze, More Mesa, Skyfall Groove, and Odessa Palm — warm, sun-washed tones that sit naturally in Houston homes, from brick traditionals to new-build farmhouse styles.
The planks run a full six feet long (72"), which means fewer seams, longer sight lines, and rooms that read bigger. The realism is not just printed: Embossed-in-Register (EIR) texture aligns the surface grain with the printed wood pattern, and painted bevels define each plank the way real hardwood gaps do. Underneath, a 4.5 mm rigid core plus a 1.5 mm premium acoustic pad delivers the quiet, solid feel, and the UV acrylic finish guards the color in sun-facing rooms.
For most Houston homes, this is the collection we point to first: a 20 mil wear layer that handles kids, dogs, and daily traffic, six-foot planks that suit open floor plans, and a design language that belongs here.
Lone Star Spirit XL — Bigger Rooms, Bolder Scale
9” × 72” planks · 6.5 mm thick · 20 mil wear layer · 22.65 SF per box
The XL takes everything Lone Star Spirit does and widens it. Nine-inch-wide, six-foot-long planks are the scale modern Texas floor plans are built around — great rooms, open kitchens, and primary suites where a standard plank can look busy. The core steps up to 5 mm with the same 1.5 mm acoustic pad (6.5 mm total), so the floor feels even more substantial underfoot.
Same EIR texture, same painted bevel, same UNICLIC floating install, same 50-year residential warranty — in colors like Artisan Touch, Sea Shell, and Ballroom Rodeo. If your rooms are large and your ceilings are tall, start with the XL and size down only if the space argues for it.

How Much Flooring Do I Need?
The math is simple: measure the room, add waste for cuts, then divide by the coverage in each box and round up.
Step 1 — Room area: 14 ft × 12 ft = 168 SF
Step 2 — Add 10% waste: 168 × 1.10 = 184.8 SF to order
Step 3 — Lone Star Spirit: 184.8 ÷ 21.27 SF/box = 9 boxes
Step 3 — Lone Star Spirit XL: 184.8 ÷ 22.65 SF/box = 9 boxes
Worked example only — angled walls, closets, and pattern direction change the real number. Bring your measurements in and we will confirm the exact count before you order. We also offer free in-home estimates.
Care Notes — Protect Your Warranty
Never use a steam mop on SPC, WPC, laminate, loose lay, or LVP: heat and steam pressure can damage the wear layer and void the warranty. A vacuum without a rotating beater bar and a barely damp mop are all these floors need.
Questions, Answered
Who Is Lions Floor?
Lions Floor is an American flooring brand founded in 2017 and headquartered in Paramount, California. It makes waterproof SPC and WPC rigid-core flooring, laminate, loose lay, and LVP — all tested in U.S.-based laboratories — and distributes nationwide, including a distribution presence here in Houston. Its guiding line: ‘We strive for quality.’
What Does “Matching Colors Across Categories” Actually Mean?
It means the same color is produced in multiple constructions — SPC, laminate, loose lay, and LVP — with matching mouldings. So your kitchen can be waterproof SPC, your bedrooms laminate, and your rental unit LVP, and all three still read as one coordinated floor plan instead of three unrelated floors.
Is Lions Floor SPC Really Waterproof?
Yes — the plank itself is 100% waterproof. The stone polymer composite core will not swell, warp, or lose strength when exposed to water, which is why SPC is approved for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements where wood and standard laminate are not. Over a Houston concrete slab, a 6-mil poly moisture barrier under the floating floor is still recommended to handle vapor rising from below.
What Warranty Backs Lions Floor Flooring?
Almost all Lions Floor SPC collections carry a 50-year residential and 10-year commercial limited warranty — including both Lone Star Spirit lines. One care note protects that coverage: never use a steam mop on SPC, WPC, laminate, loose lay, or LVP, since heat and steam pressure can damage the wear layer and void the warranty. A vacuum without a rotating beater bar and a barely damp mop are all these floors need.
